Megadyne manufactures multi-ribbed J, L and M V-belts for use in high speed, high ratio drives. Made from polybutadiene rubber and polyester cords, our belts flex around small drive pulleys, allowing high ratio drives to be used in compact designs. Multi-ribbed belts operate silently, provide low vibration levels and do not tip over at high speeds. To increase lateral rigidity, fabric is added to the back of the belt.

In addition to being used in power transmission systems such as machine tools, compressors, home appliances, and sports equipment, strand rubber belts are often coated with wear-resistant, high-friction rubber for use, for example, as drive belts in extrusion processes.

Multi-ribbed V-belts comply with engineering standard ARPM IP-26 and ISO 9982. The characteristics of multi-ribbed V-belts are determined by the effective length in inches multiplied by 10, cross-section and number of ribs – for example: 445J6, where 44.5 inches – belt length, J – pitch, and the number of ribs – 6.
